Pensions

Q. What Happens if I leave employment?

A.  Any pension benefits you have accrued are transferrable to another pension scheme, regardless of length of membership, so you never lose what you've accrued (see "Can I receive a refund of contributions if I leave or opt-out?" question). Providing you have attained the minimum amount of Scheme Membership (2 years)*, the pension you have accrued will stay in the scheme and will become payable to you, wherever you are in the world, upon your retirement. Just keep us up to date with where you are!

*NB If you are a member of the USS pension scheme, there is no minimum amount of service required in order to retain your benefits in the scheme once you have left.
